1970 Seiko Pogue Chronograph watch 6139-6000 just service new glass warranty

The Seiko 6139-6000, affectionately known as the “Pogue”, is an iconic vintage automatic chronograph from the 1970s, famous for its colourful dial and distinctive Pepsi-style bezel. Its nickname comes from NASA astronaut Colonel William Pogue, who famously wore one during the Skylab 4 mission, giving the watch a unique connection to space exploration. Powered by Seiko’s pioneering 6139 automatic chronograph movement, this 41mm classic is a fantastic piece of watchmaking history and a real favourite among collectors.

This particular example has just come back from a service and new glass at a cost of £295. Being a circa 1970 / 56 year old watch, the watch does have age related wear including marks to the dial, significant marks, fading and scratches to the original 'Pepsi' bezel and signs of wear to the case. The bracelet is an after market, non original, Seiko branded bracelet that suits the watch perfectly. The quick set date, inner bezel rotation and date and time set all function as they should. Please note, this is a quick set day + date model (dual language - English and French),  and in an automatic only movement, meaing no manual wind option so the watch should be started / wound by gently moving from side to side. The watch is supplied as 'watch only' with a Wetherby Watches travel case. Due to its age, the watch should be considered non water resitant
